Nicolas Cage (KICK ASS, SNAKE EYES) délivre une performance magnifique et intense dans le rôle d'Evan Lake, un agent de la CIA désormais affecté à des tâches administratives et souffrant de graves troubles neurologiques. Un faisceau d'indices lui laisse à penser que son ennemi juré, un jihadiste qui l'a retenu en otage plusieurs années avant, serait encore en vie. Contre l'avis de sa hiérarchie et avec l'aide d'un jeune agent interprété par Anton Yelchin (STAR TREK), il va retourner sur le terrain afin de traquer le fantôme de son passé. I simply like Nicolas Cage, and maybe that's precisely why he doesn't really care what he plays in. He chooses roles like on an assembly line and recently he regularly appears in B-movie productions. However, this political thriller is not bad at all and it works well as a B-movie production, thanks to Cage's acting, which is traditional but still enjoyable to me. Plus, he has another excellent look again.

Nicolas Cage’s movies have been really declining in quality. The emphasis put on his injured right ear was almost ridiculous. It’s clear that he no longer knows what kind of movies he should appear in, and that he’s taking way too many roles. The only good thing was that this movie didn’t have the three-hour running time the creators originally planned for, because otherwise I’d not have finished watching it.
