Man from Shaolin

A poorly made film that, however, has some messages in it. It is quite amateurish and the monk is not particularly remarkable, but it is all the more interesting when it comes to the fights. He is damn good at it. Just don't expect an action movie. This is primarily a meditation on life and the meaning of one person's existence. Sometimes we ourselves are unable to find that meaning. And when we finally find it, we disregard it. This definitely isn't for everyone. The pace is unbelievably slow and the film doesn't say much. (02/11/2013)
