The Appearing brings absolutely nothing to the table and just pretends to be a completely mediocre exorcism horror, which it ultimately is. The only scary scene is when someone is singing and you don't know who it is. Latin really doesn't save everything, and saying it's a dead language won't exactly give you goosebumps. I doubt Daric Gates is gonna keep making horror movies for a living.
