Victor Perez, dit Young Perez, 136 combats, 91 victoires dont 27 par KO, Champion du monde des poids mouches, est sur le ring. Cette fois là, il sait qu'il ne peut pas gagner ce combat. En face de lui Kurtz, le soldat allemand de 20 centimètres et 20 kilos de plus que lui. Autour de lui les cheminées des fours crématoires recrachent les cendres de ses camarades d'infortune. Et pourtant, encouragé par son frère Benjamin déporté lui aussi et par des milliers de regards muets, Victor, ce petit juif arabe, tiendra tête à ces monstres durant quinze rounds. Pendant l'enfer de ce combat, Victor verra défiler sa vie. La Jeunesse insouciante de Tunis avec Rachid, Maxo et Benjamin. Il y retrouvera l'amour avec la bellissime Mireille. Can anybody tell me what this movie’s got to do with Bulgaria, which tries to look as the main producer of this film? I get that for their lack of worldwide fame, the Bulgarians are trying to make themselves famous for something, but this doesn’t really make any sense. The movie itself isn’t bad at all. But it has two completely mismatching storylines; one is taking place just before the war in a boxing setting and the other is taking place directly in a concentration camp. The story from before the war is boring and uninteresting, but the one in a concentration camp really gets things going. If you last till the very end and see Young through the entire movie, the ending will definitely make it up to you.
