Jacob et Buddy sont deux frères que tout sépare. Promis à un brillant avenir de violoniste à New York et sur le point de se marier, Jacob rend visite à son frère dans sa ville natale au Texas. Il y découvre que Buddy est manipulé par un baron du crime local, qui a fait de lui un tueur à gages impliqué dans une guerre avec un cartel mexicain.
