In a village somewhere in California pessimism and alcohol prevail. Laci, the world's greatest looser, starts to construct a football field. The alcoholic Veronika hopes to find happiness in her love for Laci. Her 10 year old son Mark holds the violin for the first time thanks to an old, burnt-out musician, who has his own terrible secrets...The stories of these four people intertwine and head -through a row of tragicomic situations - towards a dramatic end.
