The zombies are stalking again. An excellent idea about how to have an original take on the zombie apocalypse. The creators don’t get all the juice out of it,though, which is a pity, but The Returned has its strong moments. It’s very well made and the climax even managed to arouse some emotions (though the ending maybe is trying a bit too much). A pleasant surprise from the director of the below-par The Possession of Emma Evans. 7/10

In this case, the Spanish-Canadian collaboration, in my opinion, paid off. The only issue I see is that the film is marketed as a horror, which might not be entirely accurate. It is not a horror film, as there are no horror moments or the necessary atmosphere. It's partly a science fiction film, a film about people who have different views of the world. It's not revelatory in that sense, but it's certainly interesting.
