For fans of Stanley Kubrick, it is a must-watch and likely to provide immense satisfaction. For me, as a viewer who does not worship Kubrick but recognizes and respects him, it is a valuable journey into the behind-the-scenes of his iconic works. Surprisingly, the most captivating aspects for me were the circumstances surrounding the creation of my favorite films, A Clockwork Orange and Eyes Wide Shut. I would endure the usual praise for the director, as it is well-deserved, but comments like "Film history is divided into the films before Kubrick and the films after Kubrick" have become a bit excessive. anglais One of the most thorough and best-put together documentaries I have had the opportunity to see. Lots of interesting information, detailed filmography, interviews with personalities. Really excellent. ()

anglais Any lower rating is out of the question. Kubrick was a true genius, the likes of which will never be born again, and his films are a chapter of their own in the history of cinema. They were not only cinematically sophisticated and precise, but each carried a certain vision that often divided the society of the time into two warring camps. And while one side looked for something bad and controversial in every work, and actually drove Kubrick to a very solitary life, most of those who, like him, have delved deep into the mysteries of the filmmaking craft and view his films purely in terms of quality, clearly agree: Kubrick was the best, for all his perfectionism and occasional moodiness, he was a unique and strong personality whose ills were always erased and overcome by the amazing result of his enormous working passion. If you like his films at least a little, this interesting and celebratory documentary is a must. ()
