(Orange)

anglais A charming romantic animated comedy featuring canine characters who, except for talking, behave exactly the same as their live-action counterparts. Again, hats off to the Disney animators, really. I liked Lady and the Tramp a lot as a kid and I still like them today, although I probably look at them through very different eyes. Apart from the dogs, I would also like to highlight the two great Siamese cats, cunning beasts that also sing a wonderfully funny song, and a rat that is really scary. ()

anglais An awesome romantic fairy tale that swaps human heroes for animal heroes as skilfully and endearingly as only the geniuses at Disney could. The fancy Lady and the rogue Tramp are a perfect match and their spaghetti dinner has irrevocably gone down in history (thanks in part to the many parodies), the baby plot is charmingly delivered, and the supporting characters are extremely likeable and diverse (I quite enjoyed the visit to the shelter). It's a pity that they didn't push the envelope more in terms of humour, because in this respect Lady and Tramp is a bit behind the competition. Fortunately, though, everything else works perfectly :-D 80% ()

anglais The Disney classic Lady and the Tramp made spaghetti famous like no other. The film impresses in particular with its beautiful animation and the simple story of the dogs' lives (at times it could be seen as a "prehistoric" version of The Secret Life of Pets). In this case, the humour and the typical music take second place to the romance with a touch of drama. I found this dog story a bit more interesting than 101 Dalmatians, and despite the lack of a prominent villain – which is typical of Disney movies (neither the cats nor the rat had much space) – it was thrilling. anglais Yes, it's nice, the story is beautiful, but considering that one has seen it many times in a more modern version, it's not quite the same anymore. On the other hand, this film is 60 years old. Once again, it shows how much Hollywood relies on ideas that creators brought a long time ago and are not very capable of any significant innovation. It's a pity I didn't see this film earlier. And it's a pity I saw it with Czech dubbing. ()
