Valentin is Acapulco's resident playboy, until a former fling leaves a baby on his doorstep and takes off without a trace. Leaving Mexico for Los Angeles to find the baby's mother, Valentin ends up finding a new home for himself and his newfound daughter. An unlikely father figure, Valentin raises Maggie for six years, while also establishing himself as one of Hollywood's top stuntmen to pay the bills, with Maggie hilariously acting as his on-set coach. But their unique and offbeat family is threatened when Maggie's mother shows up out of the blue, and Valentin realizes he's in danger of losing his daughter - and his best friend. anglais After seeing a few of his comedies, Eugenio Derbez is for me a guarantee of unique and quality humor. And I didn’t know that he was behind the idea that the French made into the film Two Is a Family three years later. And even though I found the European version more relatable to, I definitely wasn’t bored while watching this comedy. I must say that I was pleasantly surprised. ()

anglais Well, being promiscuous doesn't pay off too much, because then something terrible can happen to you - you will have a daughter. Why the main character of the movie is so promiscuous is hard to understand. Yes, he is a man, but his appearance is... well, if any, then irritating. This man finds out that he has a daughter, and the mistress who gave birth to the child leaves the responsibility to him. The basic plot of the Mexican movie is quite clear. At times, the film tries too hard to play on emotions, at times the comedy is funny, at times not at all. It's one of those modern mixtures of comedy/drama/romance, but unfortunately it doesn't bring anything extra. Maybe average, but only if you're in the mood for it. However, the film once again teaches us that some people are simply jerks and only care about themselves. For the poorly executed, terribly heart-wrenching ending, I have to give it a slightly below-average rating. ()
