Petr Ruttner's first documentary about Jarmila Novotná was made under the auspices of Krátký Film. In a way, it's charming that Novotná herself says the exact same phrases that she published in her memoir. She may have already had her life encapsulated in a single comprehensive image. But since Ruttner made Vox humana the very next year, he didn't come up with much that was new.
