'Foosball' (Metegol) is a story about love, pride, friendship and passion. It chronicles the adventures of a Table Football team who try to reunite after being dismantled and torn from their home. Guided by their leader, the charismatic Skip, and Amadeo, a shy but skillful young man, they embark on a great adventure. I'm not sure if it's the football theme or how it tries to be likable at all costs, but in the end, I enjoyed it, even though the first hour didn't really grab me. Sure, it's all very predictable and clichéd, but the story about love and the strength of spirit works. Naive, and silly, but sometimes that's probably good enough for me.
