Critique de l’utilisateur·trice Necrotongue pour cette série (99)

Brise le fil (2018) (S06E09)

anglais I've watched and rated my fair share of series, and yet, I still fell for it again — thinking the creators had finally found their groove. But the ninth episode was another letdown. The pace was sluggish, the humor was lacking, and the plot just didn't quite convince me. ()

Le Nookie au chocolat (2018) (S06E10)

anglais While Daddy's storyline didn't grab me in previous episodes (and I'm sure the creators will revisit it), the retrospective with Carol and Barbara was spot-on. It was the only thing that really held my attention in this episode. Well, that and the Caputo/Figueroa duo, who never fail to entertain me. They're a guarantee. ()

Ça prend une tournure sombre (2018) (S06E11)

anglais The creators really stepped up their game, surpassing the standard set by the rest of the season. The plot was engaging, things moved along at a decent pace, and I didn't feel like I wasted an hour of my life. ()

Duos d'enfer (2018) (S06E12)

anglais The last episode felt more put together, whereas this one was a bit like a patchwork quilt. Still, it wasn't a total flop. Caputo's motivational speech rubbed me the wrong way, but that's on me. Those kinds of speeches always dredge up some unpleasant memories for me. ()

Libre arbitre (2018) (S06E13)

anglais The finale of the sixth season left me feeling pretty disappointed. Episode thirteen would've been a perfect ending, but now I'm worried they'll drag things out until the bitter end in season seven. It's a shame that the outcome of Taystee's trial didn't make me feel anything. Honestly, I don't think there was any other possible outcome that today's audience would have found acceptable. ()

Season 7 (2019) (S07)

anglais Honestly, I was expecting a disaster. To my great surprise, I had a good time for the most part, even though it occasionally creaked a little. Too bad that the creators couldn’t avoid playing on emotions as usual. On the other hand, it’s true that even the seventh season managed to offer a very decent drama not lacking in humor. ()

Le Début de la fin (2019) (S07E01)

anglais I ran into a familiar issue from the previous season - the lack of humor. For someone who's seen better prison dramas, this was a bit disappointing. Plus, I've been growing increasingly annoyed with the character Madison Murphy. However, I have to admit, seeing her face get up close and personal with the floor was oddly satisfying. ()

Privées de dessert (2019) (S07E02)

anglais This episode was a delightful surprise for me. I found everything involving Artesian McCullough highly entertaining, and the auditions finally got me laughing. Although I was thrilled to see Maritza Ramos make a return, I couldn't help but miss Joe Caputo. Nevertheless, overall, I was quite satisfied with how things played out. ()

Une autre nuance d'orange (2019) (S07E03)

anglais This episode definitely earned a solid five stars from me because it ticked off several boxes on my wishlist. The return of the comedic-romantic duo Caputo and Figueroa brought a smile to my face, and watching Madison Murphy explore the charms of Missouri was pure joy. The infusion of humor was spot-on, and the immigrant storyline added a layer of compelling drama. Overall, I was thoroughly satisfied. ()

Perpète, mode d'emploi (2019) (S07E04)

anglais It's intriguing how whenever Piper Chapman takes center stage, the episode seems to lose its charm, at least in my opinion. I found myself somewhat disappointed by this episode. The storyline just didn't capture my interest as much. ()

Expulsion minoritaire (2019) (S07E05)

anglais I found the Diaz family's escapades particularly enjoyable this time around, and Aleida's explosive rage definitely grabbed my attention :-D Even the immigrant subplot had its moments. But leave it to Piper to spoil the fun by fully embracing her role as a complete moron. ()

L'Angoisse de l'ascenseur (2019) (S07E06)

anglais I quite enjoyed the plot of the sixth episode, I was not bored by the events in the prison or outside of it, but the most impressive achievement was how much screen time Joe Caputo was given, who became my clear favorite. Every interaction he has with Natalie Figueroa is hilarious. ()

Et moi aussi (2019) (S07E07)

anglais Well, even if nothing else happened in the entire episode (which it almost didn't), Joe Caputo would have made it worthwhile all on his own. His desperate battle against the MeToo movement felt like something straight out of Don Quixote. ()

13 à la douzaine (2019) (S07E08)

anglais Well, this one didn't quite hit the mark for me. The episode felt like it was treading water with the plot, stuck in one spot for most of the time. The highlight? Definitely the hunting trip. I couldn't decide what amused me more: the butch leader or the whole sheep incident. ()

Le Trou caché (2019) (S07E09)

anglais The ninth episode took a deep dive into family dynamics, and I was pleasantly surprised by how the creators handled the emotional aspects without going overboard. Piper even managed to keep me entertained for a change. And as Lorna Muccio's story unfolded, I found myself completely drawn in. Overall, a solid episode. ()

La Treizième (2019) (S07E10)

anglais I found the tenth episode pretty satisfying. The issues that popped up weren't as bad as in previous episodes. Plus, there was a good mix of solid drama and funny moments, so I didn't find much to grumble about. Larry's comeback startled me, but thankfully, he wasn't whining this time. ()

Bienvenue aux États-Unis (2019) (S07E11)

anglais This episode had all the makings of a full-blast rating, but it's frustrating how it repeatedly echoes support for the MeToo movement and cancel culture. ()

La Taule (2019) (S07E12)

anglais Towards the end, the series really clicked for me. The creators struck the right balance between drama and humor once again. Though, I was taken aback by Poussey Washington's return at the end. I thought her storyline was already wrapped up. Nonetheless, the drama intensified with Tiffany Doggett, and surprisingly, Caputo didn't bring the laughs this time; his cynical partner took the lead in that department. ()

Tout le monde descend (2019) (S07E13)

anglais The finale stretched on like a full-length movie, which was a bit of a letdown. With less time, maybe the creators could have avoided the cringe-worthy scenes that tainted the entire episode for me. A simple, well-executed farewell during the closing credits would've sufficed. Larry's speech to Piper was particularly cringey. Without the unnecessary filler, it could've easily earned five stars from me. ()
