Les Pisseuses (2017) (S05E03)

anglais After that exciting start, I feel like the series is losing its momentum. It seems like the creators are hitting a roadblock with the prison rebellion storyline and are having trouble finding a satisfying resolution. While the episode wasn't terrible, some of the plotlines just didn't grab my attention like I hoped they would. ()

Litchfield a du talent (2017) (S05E04)

anglais The latest episode showed some improvement compared to the last one; the storyline picked up speed, but it didn't quite match the top-notch atmosphere of the pilot. It'd be nice if the creators focused more on enhancing the atmosphere or injecting some humor to lift it up a notch for me. ()

Vas-y Effie, chante ! (2017) (S05E05)

anglais The fifth episode was pretty much on par with the previous one in terms of quality, and ordinarily, I'd give it four stars. However, it became overly emotional in reflecting on the experiences of black individuals. Frankly, I'm growing weary of the incessant dwelling on historical injustices ()

Epicées... et fumées (2017) (S05E06)

anglais While this episode saw the creators shift their focus towards interpersonal relationships and mental states, sidelining the negotiations between rebels and authorities a bit, I found it quite enjoyable. And note to self: always read the label before drinking the paint. 4*- ()

La Touffe complète pour un demi snickers (2017) (S05E07)

anglais The seventh episode took a bit of a detour from the main plot, with the rebellion fading into the background. Instead, we were treated to one of the most human episodes since the series began. It was a refreshing change of pace, offering deeper dialogue and a glimpse into the characters' humanity. ()

Ligotée sur la voie (2017) (S05E08)

anglais Following the previous episode's dive into humanity, this one brought back the proper action and drama, and I loved it. The contrast felt refreshing. The storyline is unfolding in an intriguing and entertaining way. Here's hoping the creators nail the final third of the season. 4*+ ()

Frissons (2017) (S05E09)

anglais The ninth episode nailed it with a perfect blend of Piscatella's action-packed storyline and the high-stakes negotiations for the hostages' release and ending the rebellion. It kept me thoroughly engaged throughout. And Caputo? Well, he never fails to bring the laughs. Overall, very satisfying. ()

L'Antiroi Midas (2017) (S05E10)

anglais The tenth episode took the plot up a notch. It's hard to pick a favorite storyline, but if I had to, it'd be the hilarious one involving Caputo's negotiation with Fig. That had me in stitches! ()

Plus près de toi, Poussey (2017) (S05E11)

anglais So, the plot kind of lost its groove for me. I found myself zoning out during the whole Lorna and Suzanne saga, and it threw off the episode's rhythm. It's a shame because after the great previous episode. ()

Tatouages, etc. (2017) (S05E12)

anglais So, I've come to terms with the fact that this series is living in its own reality, and I managed to find some enjoyment in it. But man, sometimes the script really came back to bite its own creator. By the way, if nobody else will do it, I might just have to personally take care of Baxter Bailey. He is just too much to bear. ()

Avis de tempête (2017) (S05E13)

anglais The last episode managed to step it up a bit from the previous ones, though it didn't exactly blow me away. But, man, I had to really suspend my disbelief this time. People were just strolling out of that besieged prison like it was a casual Friday at the office. And even when the place wasn't under siege, things were still pretty bizarre. Ah well, it could've been worse, I guess. ()

Season 6 (2018) (S06)

anglais As I said in my review of the thirteenth episode, it would be great if it was the season finale. Now there is a risk of Season 7 ruining the rest of what makes the series great. If replacing characters with new ones was supposed to revive the story, I can honestly say it failed to do so. With the exception of the crazy sisters, the flashbacks involved characters I couldn’t care less about, so it felt like a waste of time. Unfortunately, it turned out that quality retrospective scenes and the sacrificed characters were more important for the story than I’d thought. ()

L'histoire que j'ai apprise (2018) (S06E01)

anglais I was all set to give this episode four stars, but Suzanne's hallucinations threw me off. I get that the creators were aiming for a funny and unique take on maximum security, but it just didn't do it for me — it felt a bit dragged out. Despite these scenes, I still had a pretty good time overall and was pleasantly surprised after the last season. ()

Va y avoir du grabuge (2018) (S06E02)

anglais I couldn't shake the feeling that something was missing. The dynamic duo of Joe Caputo and Natalie Figueroa, who usually keep me entertained, injected a bit of excitement into an otherwise lackluster plot. Other than that, there weren't any standout moments for me. ()

Pense à ta pomme (2018) (S06E03)

anglais Interrogations are still ongoing, so you'd think we'd get the same old outcome as the last episode, right? Well, not quite. This time around, the creators didn't skimp on the intriguing plot twists, they managed to slip in some humor, and on top of that, my suspicion that Frieda is slowly becoming the most interesting character in the series was confirmed. ()

C'est moi, l'âne parlant (2018) (S06E04)

anglais This time, it was definitely above average, but I'm missing that extra something that would make me bump up the rating. Unlike Wentworth, this show has always had more than just pure drama — it's the comedy that made it strong. But it feels like that comedic element is slowly fading away. ()

Drôles de farces (2018) (S06E05)

anglais It's tough to find new words when the fifth episode is pretty much on par with the last one. The plot's still solid, definitely better than a lot of other series out there, especially for a sixth season. But it's missing that extra dose of quality humor for me to bump it up to a four-star rating, which is a shame. ()

In utero (2018) (S06E06)

anglais Looks like a pretty lackluster and repetitive season. Another episode that failed to deliver any standout moments. Sure, there might be some coprophiliacs among viewers and they might have enjoyed it, but personally, I could've done with a bit more humor. ()

Les Choses changent (2018) (S06E07)

anglais Finally, I could bump up the rating! After three lackluster episodes, we got a pretty entertaining one. The creators got back to focusing on the story, injecting some humor back into the mix. It's about time! ()

Jordan, ou pas (2018) (S06E08)

anglais Looks like the creators hit their stride halfway through the season. There were moments where I felt like they were trying to recapture the quality of the first two seasons. Overall, I had a pretty good time. ()
