anglais "Even the Felixes don't have that!" can be heard in Martin Frič's common Protectorate comedy. With its cast of supporting roles and its dose of often very similar humor, it follows in the footsteps of such films as Charming Fellow or, in another shift (starring Růžena Nasková), Cikán's Examples Work Wonders. The rivalry between the relatives is as monstrous as in Vávra's later film I'll Be Right Over... So what about today? Auntie's Fantasies is relegated to a mere František Smolík film and is released in an awkward combination with Higher Principle. It is thus literally stolen from the pleasant Nasková and the genial Ferenc Futurista, about whom Marie Štrosová-Steinerová declared (as a classic Protectorate adolescent) that he was once a comedian. I also want to add that I really like Nancy Rubensová, but it was never a shame for Lída Chválová that she didn't shine more. ()
