This intimate tragicomedy, set in a provincial Slovak town, captures one day in the life of five employees of a natural science museum. Although the institution celebrates thirty years of existence, they struggle with a cut in funding. The manager, three handymen and the doorkeeper live in a pathological symbiosis with the museum, and they refuse to admit that the institution most likely won't survive the financial crisis. The filmmakers succeeded in depicting remarkably authentic characters whose subtly sketched portraits complete the museum's environment, which seems to have completely missed the Velvet Revolution and continues slumbering in the socialist era. A series of absurd, almost grotesque situations reflects the sad reality of funding cultural institutions. (Febiofest)
