Alice vit dans une belle villa. Elle a un mari qui gagne beaucoup d'argent, un fils de 9 ans et trois immigrés comme domestiques. Elle est superficielle, antipathique et raciste. Lorsque son mari meurt dans un accident, elle se retrouve pleine de dettes. Elle doit quitter leur belle villa et va vivre dans un petit logement dans un quartier très populaire. Alice doit gagner beaucoup d'argent pour rembourser les dettes. Elle fait la connaissance d'Eva, une call-girl qui travaille dans des milieux très chics. Alice suit son exemple. Quand elle ne travaille pas, Alice s'intègre à la vie de son nouveau quartier et rencontre beaucoup de braves gens. Parmi eux, Giulio, qui ne lui est pas indifférent. (texte officiel du distributeur)

The Italians are crazy. Because I can’t even count how many times I’ve seen a comedy with one crazy actor next to another. But they always set it up with some brutal atmosphere only to cut it short with some romantic crap that pushes the entire atmosphere off a cliff. And this movie was no exception. The scenes about soccer rivalry between S.S. Lazio and A.S. Roma were priceless. With a gang like that, I probably wouldn’t survive it if my son became a Lazio fan. They’d probably kick my butt and I’m sure they’d spit on me, too. But as the movie started getting good, the Italians cut it off in the second half, especially when it comes to the last half an hour. It’s almost as if they realized that the movie has to have a point and so they immediately stuffed some romance in it. Suddenly, all of the crazy mess and all the fun that came with it was gone and the movie became a first-degree gooey romantic flick.
