Située il y a 70 millions d'années, au temps où les dinosaures régnaient en maitres sur terre, notre histoire suit les aventures de Patchi, le dernier né de sa famille. Sur le long chemin qui le mènera vers l'âge adulte, il devra survivre dans un monde sauvage et imprévisible, et faire face aux plus dangereux prédateurs. Quand son père est tué, le jeune Patchi, son grand frère Scowler, et son amie Juniper sont séparés du reste de la horde pendant la grande migration. Désormais à la recherche des siens, le trio va devoir surmonter de nombreux obstacles, et vivre une aventure palpitante au cours de laquelle Patchi va révéler son immense courage. Animation and graphics are definitely strong points, but that's about it. The visuals of the BBC documentaries - BBC was also involved in this film - seemed much more visually appealing and, above all, more mature. Their informative function was very well-executed. In this case, that's fine, but the story is terribly cliché and even the dinosaurs themselves can't save it.

Walking with Dinosaurs is a film with breathtaking effects on par with Jurassic Park and the BBC documentaries, but the story is prosaic, due to the fact that it is primarily intended for a younger and less demanding audience. Still, I was amused by some of the one-liners, so I can't say it was a complete failure script-wise. This is another film that chose the popular journey of these formidable creatures from A to B, so I especially enjoyed the visuals, which were really top-notch. All in all, an enjoyable and simple diversion that's fine to watch and doesn't require any unnecessary thinking.
