Season 1 (2015) (S01)

anglais I consider this hybrid between comedy and drama a flop, as there is very little quality humor for a British comedy and not enough suspense and atmosphere for a drama series. Things do improve in the last two episodes, but too late to save the final impression. ()

Erreur de jeunesse (2015) (S01E01)

anglais After the first episode, I'm tentatively giving it three stars. I was hoping for a healthy dose of my favorite dry humor, but it appears the British wit might be on the decline. Many of the jokes completely missed their mark for me, and the storyline wasn't entirely convincing. Here's hoping it picks up in the next episodes. 3*- ()

Cocktails meutriers (2015) (S01E02)

anglais I could have easily skipped this episode and not missed out on anything significant. The series leaves me with mixed feelings, not quite hitting the mark. ()

L'un des vôtres (2015) (S01E03)

anglais The story felt a tad more engaging this time, but it only solidified my belief that British society is seriously ailing, with little hope for improvement. ()

Mauvais payeurs (2015) (S01E04)

anglais The series does have a major flaw: the creators seem unable to decide between comedy and drama, resulting in a compromise that doesn't quite nail either genre. I may not speak Polish, but I understand enough of it to catch the occasional words. That's why I was quite curious about the language the main character spoke in this episode – it certainly wasn't Polish; sounded more like Klingon! ()

Coupable un jour (2015) (S01E05)

anglais The fifth episode seemed to follow the pattern of the previous ones, but this time I noticed an attempt to build up some tension towards the end. While it didn't quite hit the mark, it seems like the creators are starting to realize that something is missing in the series. I'm just not sure if they can still do something about it. ()

Esclavage moderne (2015) (S01E06)

anglais I could tell the creators were trying to inject more drama into the story. However, I'm starting to worry that they might not be able to turn it into a thriller. They should have committed to either comedy or a serious tone from the start. Right now, it's lacking enough humor for me (except for some cheesy jokes), yet it also lacks the necessary tension, which leaves me in a bit of a mixed bag. ()

Le Deuxième Homme (2015) (S01E07)

anglais Either I've grown accustomed to the series, or perhaps the creators have finally begun to weave some tension into the storyline as the first season nears its end, but this episode was the strongest of the season so far. 3*+ ()

Entorse au règlement (2015) (S01E08)

anglais Well, the creators finally took a decisive step towards a dramatic outcome in the finale, and I must say, they did well. Admittedly, there were moments where I found myself shaking my head in disbelief, but overall, the finale turned out to be quite good. There was tension, moral dilemmas were resolved, and although it was probably unintentional, there was a passage that irresistibly reminded me of a Home Depot commercial :-) The hook at the end of the season to reel viewers into the next season was the size and weight of a ship's anchor... 3*+ ()
