anglais Misfits vs. The Ambulance? Yes, it really is as black-humored, cynical, irreverant and screamingly funny as they say. But that is under the surface. It works mainly as a drama about an ambulance crew, mostly on their night shift who are called out to all those junkies, domestic violence, fights, drunks, car crashes on a daily (nightly) basis... When they rescue somebody, no word of thanks awaits them (more like a lawsuit); and if they don’t manage to rescue somebody, a lawsuit from their mourning relatives is almost certain. Paperwork, bureaucracy, not getting involved, threat of being fired and the eternal “comparing penises" with the fire service who always get all the credit. You can tell from this that the author has a wealth of personal experience in this area. It is quite understandable that this extremely nice central quartet has formed a cynical detachment and a rather strange (but not cheap) sense of humor to remain sane and make them able to lead the normal life lived by other thirty-somethings.
