Jesse (Josh Radnor) is a 35-year old literature graduate living an aimless life in New York City, working a dead-end job as an university admissions officer and fresh from the break-up of a stale relationship. He gets the opportunity to escape the rat race when he receives an invitation to the retirement dinner of his favourite professor, Peter (Richard Jenkins), at his former university in Ohio. There he meets pretty 19-year-old theatre student Zibby (Elizabeth Olsen), and the two begin a romance. But can their mutual attraction withstand the age gap and geographical distance that lie between them? (4DVD)

anglais For me, Josh Radnor will always be Ted from How I Met Your Mother. Anyway, I already watched one of his movies and I was satisfied. I’ve noticed that he references the lines he says in his movies a lot in HIMYM, which is nice. However, it’s worse when something bothers you in HIMYM and he squeezes it into the movies as well. And that’s what happened here. Josh plays a guy who falls in love with a young girl but cannot tell her he loves her as he thinks it would ruin her youth. When she tells him that she loves him, he tells her they can’t be together, and that’s pretty much how the whole movie goes. That’s when I remembered Ted and his relationship with Robin in HIMYM, where he acted exactly the same way and it really pissed people off. In this movie he went over the line and truly pissed me off with this behavior where he doesn’t know what he wants. Again. ()
