Capturé en Irak en 2003 puis détenu par al-Qaida, le sergent marine Nicholas Brody est libéré par une intervention des forces américaines après huit ans de captivité. Si la nation admire son retour triomphal à Washington en direct à la télévision, en coulisses la réalité se révèle très difficile. Sa femme, qui le croyait mort, entretient une liaison avec son meilleur ami, tandis qu'au sein de la CIA une voix met en doute les véritables intentions de Brody. Sur la foi d'une information glanée à Bagdad, l'agent Carrie Mathison est persuadée que le héros est en fait un traître "retourné" par l'ennemi, qui prépare un attentat contre son propre pays. Season 1 is an awesome espionage treat. Claire Danes and Damian Lewis seem really natural in their roles. I really appreciate it because casting the wrong person can completely ruin an otherwise excellent film/series for me. I'm not a fan of Mandy Patinkin, but he was perfect as Saul. Both the premise and the writing is excellent so the story got me hooked right from the start. If you think I'm being too uncritical of the series, you're probably right.
