Not very talented creators trying to make smart and mysterious thriller/horror, that’s the feeling I had watching this film. The effort is appreciated, the atmosphere in the Oblowitz house is surprisingly good, so I don’t regret the ninety minutes I spent in the company of The Traveler, but the film still has a lot of problems. Also, Val Kilmer was supposed to look mysterious and dangerous and not like a baroque angel with a hangover. ()
The Canadian-American movie The Traveler shows that even with a small budget, a relatively simple idea, and one well-known actor, it is possible to make something that is not as bad as it might initially seem. Val Kilmer delivers exactly what was needed for the role. Not even the extra pounds he put on for the role are to his detriment, and it is engaging to the end. ()
