Outcast unmasks an ancient Celtic society, where black magic and witchery exist. Mary is a woman on the run, harboring a dark history. When a hunter with mythical powers is assigned to capture her and to kill her son, she is forced to unravel her past. As the two powers collide, the emergence of a greater evil develops and the fear of the unknown surfaces. (texte officiel du distributeur)

anglais Let The Right One In with an older protagonist, set in an ugly Scottish housing estate and with a less talented director behind the camera, but it’s watchable. Outcast has a pretty weird atmosphere, the story never leaves the urban setting, the constant background of the dilapidated architecture of the housing estate evokes the image of dark urban legends (every corner could have a monster). Whatever this film is (and there are moments when it’s not convincing), it’s certainly not sterile – something worth appreciating these days – it’s dirty, informal and gloomy, and there are a couple of weird Celtic rituals as a bonus. Personally, I got more than I expected, so I’m satisfied. ()
