The German invasion into the Soviet Union in June 1941 made a quick end to the secret Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact of non-aggression. After that, in Germany it was no longer necessary to tiptoe around the aversion the most powerful Communist state, and the official propaganda took off fully. Karl Ritter's spy drama The Red Terror, dealing with the dirty practices of Soviet secret police, is a proof. (Summer Film School)
