A juicy slasher flick that doesn’t want to be more than it can do perfectly, stretched out for an hour and a half. ()
The story has moved from a mountain cottage to a hospital, where Jannicke, the only survivor of the first part, has been brought in, together with her dead friends and the not quite dead killer. That’s basically the only difference between the first and second parts of Cold Prey. The story is as plain as a slasher can be, combining elements of the second Halloween, some stuff from Friday the 13th and many other films, which is good, because it takes inspiration from proven classics instead of following the path of modern teenage American slashers, but at the same time, it encourages criticism for its predictability. So, if you mind that, don watch it! Another thing that could be reproached is the uneven pace (nothing happens during the first half), but the atmosphere, the nice murders and the likeable characters more than make up for that. The rating is exactly between three and four stars. ()
