Xanadu est à la fois un regard vers le futur et un tendre souvenir qui nous rappelle comment étaient les choses à la grande époque hollywoodienne. Les années 40 et 80 se sont données rendez-vous dans Xanadu, une histoire d'amour très particulière et la première grande comédie musicale à l'ancienne à utiliser la musique. anglais One star goes for the charms and vocals of Olivia Newton-John, and the other is for the music of the band ELO; the rest falls into the Boo! category. Today, Xanadu is rightfully a forgotten musical piece, from which only the generally known main melody remains, which hardly anyone can associate with the film. However, those who grew up on the variety shows of television in the socialist era can at least appreciate the production design and dance choreography of a few songs... Overall impression 30%. ()

anglais I used to love this movie so much. But the only thing I remembered from it was the song with the titular title. I was quite curious how the film would grip me after all these years, especially considering the generally poor ratings. I just have a soft spot for Olivia, nothing can change that, but Gene Kelly really shines here. And yes, in the end, the film became about waiting for each song, with the titular "Xanadu" remaining great for me. The ending is beautifully steeped in the style of the 70s and 80s. ()

anglais Especially the theme song is worth mentioning. Not because it's so amazing, it's just notoriously famous. Otherwise, the musical Xanadu seems to me to be a kind of nostalgic memory of Gene Kelly with a lot of hard-to-digest filler around it. (35%) ()
