Somptueuse adaptation du roman fleuve de Dickens. Une fresque sociale pleine de mystère et de romance avec, pour toile de fond, la finance sans foi ni loi de l'Angleterre victorienne. (Arte)

anglais A magical Dickensian narrative that draws the viewer into its story without the viewer noticing the time passing by. So far I've only loved Anny Ondra as Amy Dorrit from the first 1934 audio version, but now I can enjoy the story of the Marshall debtors' prison in a longer runtime and with more emphasis on the supporting characters. There are many life truths, lessons, and stories respecting the history of the famous Marshall debtors prison. There is mystery, hypocrisy, and multiple acquisitions and regaining of lost belonging to a better society, a trip through continental Europe, and the issues of slavery and infidelity. This is all realistically told and dreamily narrated BBC series. That is why Dickens is still read and still attractive - there’s something for everyone and nothing taken away. #bbc ()
