En 1989, Mike O'Donnell était la star de l'équipe de basket de son lycée. Bien que repéré par un recruteur de l'université et promis à un avenir brillant, il décida de tout lâcher pour vivre avec sa petite amie, Scarlet, et le bébé qu'elle attendait. Presque vingt ans plus tard, les jours de gloire de Mike sont bien loin. Son mariage avec Scarlet s'est effondré, on lui a encore refusé une promotion professionnelle, ses enfants adolescents le voient comme un loser et, chassé de chez lui, il en est réduit à habiter avec son meilleur ami, Ned, ancien pote du lycée fan d'informatique devenu milliardaire. Mike ne rêve que d'une chose : pouvoir tout recommencer. Un miracle va lui en donner l'occasion. Ramené physiquement à ses 17 ans, il va pouvoir repartir à zéro. Décidé à profiter de cette chance unique, il va pourtant découvrir que ce qui risque le plus de lui arriver, à part d'hilarants problèmes, c'est de perdre tout ce qu'il a de mieux dans sa vie... Pretty good. Back to the Future inside out, with a hole instead of a DeLorean. It also seems to me that Efron must be somehow related to M. J. Fox, the resemblance is uncanny, or was it just the similar plot? Perry also is nice to see. Otherwise, the good scenes balance out the bad ones, but I had more fun than not, so thumbs up. I was expecting it to be a bigger heap of nonsense.

"When you're young, everything feels like the end of the world." When Zac Efron, Michelle and Leslie Mann are at the peak of their performance, and the genre mixes a few clichés with an nostalgia as strong as a wave of fandom, it is impossible to resist. "Different" teenage comedies still know how to warm your heart.

I felt like I was in High School Musical at the beginning, then ended up just in high school. It wasn't bad. Not that I cracked the screen with laughter, no, but I wasn't bored. One good scene is when the "best friend" has a date. That one kind of amused me. Otherwise, as always Matthew was awesome, I still see Chandler in him, but it was quite fitting here. And then, after the movie, it's interesting to watch the credits for a while, enhanced by the visual aids ;-)

A quite pleasant comedy, where the only thing that bothered me a little was that Matthew Perry didn't appear much here, as he couldn't show even a fraction of his comedic artistry. Otherwise, there are great women here, and Zac Efron hasn't been one of those actors that bothered me for a while. Additionally, Thomas Lennon is pulling it off wonderfully outside of the main storyline.
