„Equipped with 13 living and dead languages, Sándor Csoma Kőrösi set out on 23 November 1819 from Szeklerland in Transylvania to find the origin of the Hungarians" – thus begins Szemző's film recalling the wonderful life of Sándor Kőrösi Csoma, the great Hungarian traveller and scientist, who has been dead for 150 years. The legends preserved in the Szekler oral tradition are visualized by the animation of the painter Gábor Roskó. The thoughts, the notes of the scientist, as well as excerpts from works of authors meditating on the mysteries of existence and the universe, are pronounced to us, in diverse living and dead languages of the world. The everyday life of India and Tibet, ever since greatly unchanged, is presented in motion pictures. And above all there are the Himalayas, majestic, inscrutable, unapproachable, the Buddha himself.
