anglais A soberly-mixed epilogue of Hugo Haas' life and creative work. Proven excerpts from the most famous films are supplemented by the still-missing first version of Jedenácté přikázání (The Eleventh Commandment) (1925), the first audio version of The Last Bohemian (1931), Pickup (1951), and reshoots from the 1960s. Where are the dreams and courage of the "golden" sixties? Mandlová was kicked out of the theater just to make sure, and Haas was only promised a comeback in a Czech film. I always get a chill from those missed opportunities. On the other hand, the well-chosen soundtrack from the then-modern retro angel films is a delight. ()
