Bob Maconel (Christian Slater) endures another eight hours in a dull grey cubicle. Ignored by his co-workers, Bob feels completely invisible and out of sync with the world. On one strange day he crosses the line from potential killer to inadvertent hero when he saves beautiful Venessa (Elisha Cuthbert). His Boss (William H. Macy) transforms Bob into a new man but his good fortune is short lived when the Object of his Desire asks him to end her life. (texte officiel du distributeur)

anglais Unusually told story, highly sensitive romance, and occasionally some healthy sarcasm, so that we wouldn't drown in that nervously trembling hope. And on top of it all, unfortunately, the final quarter-hour that ruins all the carefully built-up mood and proves that the script was not a careful path to catharsis for everyone involved, but just a meaningless dead end with interesting detours that the story merely passed by. Excellent actors, imaginative direction by Cappello, but the script is seriously a betrayal. ()
