Matt Flannery and Emily Lehman are top-ranked crisis negotiators in the FBI's Crisis Negotiation Unit who are trained to talk their way through volatile situations. They make an outstanding team professionally, but their relationship is a bit more precarious off the job. The series advances the fundamental idea that in life and in love "Everything is a negotiation." (texte officiel du distributeur)

anglais Standoff arrived pretty late in the game. If it had been here before the tsunami of new-type crime series, then it could have caught the attention. But it only came along today and so they are just another completely humdrum member of this hoard of series. Which is quite a shame, because the story holds huge potential. But that potential remains severely unused and the result isn’t helped by having too much of a TV “look", not to mention the bland actors. But this series lacks any significant character who could carry it over any weaker moments - a sort of House MD on the team. Standoff doesn’t make you hungry to watch another episode, but if you put one on, you certainly won’t get bored. The question remains whether that is a sufficient sign of quality to survive among the preponderance of higher standard series. ()
