Seth Warner est un homme bien qui a eu une période de malchance. Sa femme enceinte a disparu dans l'océan pendant un voyage à la plage, une tornade a détruit sa maison en laissant les autres maisons du voisinage intactes, son patron l'a renvoyé et il a été frappé par la foudre qui a aussi blessé son chien. En récupérant à l'hôpital, Seth arrive à la conclusion que Dieu l'a maudit. Son beau-frère Harry pense que cette conclusion est absurde, puisque Seth viole cinq ou six commandements par jour. Cette notion met la puce à l'oreille de Seth. Quand il sort de l'hôpital, il décide d'affronter Dieu en violant délibérément tous les dix commandements, il espère commencer en séduisant la femme d'Harry, Rachel. (texte officiel du distributeur)

Comedy without humor, drama without emotions. Moreover, the narrator is an entirely negative character, even though they don't behave that way, and the main protagonist is unsympathetic and unidentifiable oddball. Everything is then completed with a ridiculously pathetic ending, which not only doesn't fit with the previous story, but most importantly, you can't understand how the script went from cynicism and confusion to miracles.
