A rich property owner prepares a wedding for his daughter, Kasia. Everything is exactly as it should be on the day: beautiful weather, a lot of guests, an orchestra and a gift for the young couple: a new Audi. But, as the guests start drinking, events get out of control - the orchestra doesn't want to play because it hasn't received any money yet, grandpa doesn't want to sell his land, so there is no money to pay for the car, and the person hired to film the event turns out to be Kasia's ex-boyfriend. A complete disaster is on the cards. The Wedding is a dark satire about love and money; a tale with a lot of realistic details from the south-eastern corner of Poland. It is lively, funny and scary all at the same time. As the director says, its message is blissfully straightforward: money won't buy you happiness and the sly fox loses twice as much. But its real strength is the author's acute sense of observation. (CinEast)
