Sergeant Detective Boyd (Richard Crenna) has been assigned to a case with no ordinary circumstances. He is taunted by a sniper who selects only prostitutes as victims, and baits police with photographs of the victims at the exact moments of their deaths. Along the faint trail through the city s main streets, everybody is a suspect, from powerful dope dealer and pimp Julius Kurtz (Paul Williams), to the attractive Monica Page (Linda Sorensen), a spirited and classy hooker. Boyd enlists the help of a streetwise policewoman, Sandy McCauley (Belinda J. Montgomery), who goes undercover as Boyd and McCauley slowly piece together the few elusive clues and await the sniper lurking in the dark corners of the city. (Kino Lorber)

anglais Stone Cold Dead has a nice 70s feel, where on the one hand you get the feeling that the filmmakers wanted to take inspiration from Italian giallo, but at the same time, they didn't want to go too far. The film is only slightly gritty and has some light nudity, but unfortunately, the main story is not as mysterious and good as it wants to be. ()
