In modern-day Thailand, witchcraft is not something to be taken lightly. In fact, there are dire consequences if you do. When a millionaire spurns his pregnant mistress, she places a deadly curse on his entire family. Soon, each family member dies in a decidedly brutal fashion. The police are puzzled. But an observant and open-minded reporter might be just the guy to unlock the mystery. This absolutely relentless Thai thriller, making its American DVD debut, boasts enough gruesome and shocking imagery for ten horror films. (texte officiel du distributeur)

anglais "Voodoo: The Devil's Art" is a film that has a lot in common with the original "The Ring" in terms of the plot, including some of the characters. There are even very similar shots, it's just all a bit more violent and with a different point. Additionally, the cassette is missing, that is clear. However, it is so evident how the Japanese influenced other cinematographies and how the Thais also tried to make something horror, terrifying. They succeeded even less than halfway. The film is inconsistent and fails to scare throughout, actually managing to do so for a relatively short part of its running time. ()
