(madelen)

anglais Riding on the rain with French movies is always a pleasure. And on top of that you get Marlene Jobert, who is simply lovable in this one. The movie is actually a classical and absolutely honest French movie that cannot disappoint. But everything depends on how much you grow to like Charles Bronson’s character. I didn’t really like him much, but his “Love, Love” keeps sounding in my head even two weeks later thanks to the well-done Czech dubbing. ()

anglais For me, the film is too artificial. If you are shooting a psychological thriller, you should strive for maximum credibility in the psychology of the characters and the development of their character. This film is built on effect from beginning to end and it is very mannerist. Posing emanates from most scenes. Where the cat and mouse game should be tense and tempting with its sophisticated conclusion, it became more and more annoying and boring with each passing minute. I was considering giving it between two and three stars, but a film with such a high rating doesn't need my help. Marlene Jobert and Charles Bronson are interesting not so much as the characters they play, but as real stars they rightfully were in their time. If only the director didn't play at being a great artist and made a classic crime story without those pseudo-psychologizing tricks, it could have worked decently. Overall impression: 45%. ()
