Years before Jackie Chan combined challenging fight choreography with slapstick comedy, entries like this one in the Zatoichi series (the 11th in the series) blended these elements flawlessly. This time, Zatoichi (Shintaro Katsu) hooks up with a jolly con artist. The blind master's skills are not called into play until the thrilling final sequence when he must save an innocent man who is sentenced to die. (texte officiel du distributeur)

anglais The good stories in the series are quite traditional, but here, with the next installment, it's evident that the creators have entered a slightly different world. They've decided to showcase exteriors more, and capture characters from afar, which really helps the film in some scenes, as well as using interesting camera angles during the incredible and dramatic final showdown.
