I've only ever read about Faulkner adaptations. The early ones had problems with censors and big stars, while the later ones became authentic treatises on the nature of the American South. So what’s The Reivers all about? It’s a wide-angle color adventure film about growing up in a time when having a car was a big deal. Starring Steve McQueen, just to make sure.
