Babe is a proper pig, a charismatic pig. You don’t see that very often. It’s a pity that otherwise this is your typical cute movie from Disney, but live action. ()
Clever, cute, tasteful and truly beautiful. The animals really look as if human speech is their basic nature, and the director, together with the renowned cinematographer, give some scenes a magical touch that goes hand in hand with the actual mood of the story. And when all this is combined with a first-class "family-friendly" script, the result is an engaging and informative spectacle, even worthy of inclusion in prestigious film encyclopedias like "1001 Movies You Must Watch". A nice family film, but with qualities that other films lack. Apart from the interesting form of dividing the story into individual chapters and the introduction of these chapters themselves, you'll also be impressed by the incredible special effects, all done without a single computer effect, at least from what I can tell. Nice and pleasant. ()
