En 1947, alors qu'il n'est encore qu'un bébé, Ah-ha et sa famille partent de Chine pour Taïwan. Ils s'installent d'abord près de Taipei, puis déménagent au sud de l'île où le climat est plus clément pour le père, asthmatique. Choyé par sa grand-mère, le petit Ah-ha grandit au sein d'une famille bientôt frappée par la maladie : du petit garçon espiègle qu'il était à dix ans, il se mue en adolescent taciturne et révolté... I couldn't imagine that I could enjoy this movie, but that's exactly what happened at the beginning of the film. However, gradually I started to realize that I was being drawn into the plot as the main character, and that I wanted to watch and know how the fate would continue and how the characters would interact. I must say that I liked his acting. It was both difficult and touching, and perfectly balanced.
