John Frankenheimer he is one of the best action directors (not only) of his time! I didn't mind a single second of the film, it's gripping and suspenseful, it exudes old school while still being relevant. I also recommend the book. ()
From Thomas Harris, I only know the series about Lecter, so I wanted to know what his other stories look like, or at least their film adaptations. This is exactly the film "Black Sunday". It is the only book by Thomas Harris that does not feature the character Hannibal Lecter. The film clearly has a bit of a "The Day of the Jackal" style. We follow the preparations for an assassination that is planned to take place during the Super Bowl. The idea is interesting, the execution is sometimes good, but overall it's not that strong and it's a bit drawn out. ()
