anglais Today it seems rather naive, but at the time of its creation, Air Torpedo 48 must have been a sensational film. The story sticks to the classic spy techniques (many situations are in the style of James Bond) and still tries to be interesting, the actors are good, the actresses are beautiful (it's a pity that the costume designers did such a bad job on Zita Kabátová), and we also get a number of twists and turns, a detective section and a showing of the Czechoslovak army technology of the time. On the other hand, the film has completely stupid villains, who were probably meant to entertain (the mass escape by bus), and Cikán's inability to film anything resembling an action or slightly more dramatic scene. The only exception might be the kidnapping of the protagonist. The film's message that the Czech nation must always be on guard was, given the year of its creation, chilling to the point of shame. ()
