Since Tutyu and Totyó the two retired bachelors have some spare money, they are no other problems such as to increase their already considerable paunches. One day they are bored with restaurant meals in which regularly fly swims, and they decide to employ a housekeeper. Mrs Cecile, a rich young widow is courted by two man, Lieutenant Konrad and Tihamér Dalffy, the poet. Cecil loves the lieutenant, but one day he finds Dalffy's love poem and leaves her. The sorrowful widow reads Tutyu and Totyó's advertisement in the newspaper, and she decides to join them as a housekeeper. Both old mens falls in love with the beautiful young widow, and they start to hate each other mortally. Meanwhile, Konrad who is repenting already his infidelity finds Cecile's hideout, and go in the house through the window to apologize. Tutyu and Totyó recognise each other in the man climbing through the window. They run into the Cecil's room with arms but they find their ideal in the Lieutenant's arms. Their disappointment is not fatal. Their good old friendship and good beers replace the lost ideal. Dalffy finds consolation at Veron the maid. (texte officiel du distributeur)
