Czechs on Drugs

Leading addictologists and psychiatrists explain the situation in the Czech Republic in six 15-minute episodes. How and why a person becomes addicted, which substances are the most prevalent here, what are their negative and positive effects and risks, and how to prevent children from falling victim to them. The film by director Ivo Bystřičan realistically presents the complex topic of drugs without excessive emotions, from different perspectives and with regard to the social consequences. However, the documentary also takes on a lighter note in the form of archival footage presenting familiar substances to Czechs. (Academia Film Olomouc)
