Wallace a toujours rêvé d'être acteur. Mais pour l'heure, il doit se contenter d'un modeste emploi dans un vidéo club de l'Iowa. Pour fêter son anniversaire, il prend la décision de se rendre à Londres chez son frère cadet, homme d'affaires. Celui-ci craint que Wallace ne gâche un repas organisé avec de riches investisseurs. C'est pourquoi il fait appel à une troupe de comédiens et d'improvisateurs pour occuper la soirée de son frère.
