Our planet is home to supervolcanoes that erupt with more power than any mankind has ever witnessed. One of the most powerful supervolcanoes on Earth, with the largest caldera in the world, is located in the northwestern United States: Yellowstone. Its origins date back two billion years. It has had three super eruptions, at an average interval of 700,000 years. The supervolcano at Yellowstone has the largest reservoir of magma on Earth. Is humanity coming to the end of a cycle? If Yellowstone were to erupt, what would be the consequences for humanity? If this supervolcano were to go off, parts of the North American continent would be devastated and life on Earth disrupted for centuries. (Viasat)
