Sophia and Cary make a very special couple. Yet overall, the early years in Loren's career are just full of movies that I don't get. She came out of nowhere, she had no roots, no education, and no acting skills, but she looked different and applied herself so well at a time when a new type of film heroine was being sought. She became part of the current of different faces such as Audrey Hepburn and helped to establish a completely different perception of beauty in cinema. This wouldn't have been such a problem if this wave had passed as quickly as any other fashion trend, but history would have it that this post-war generation has remained at its imaginary peak to this day.
