anglais At first glance, but also at second glance, Dog Gone looks like one of those TV movies made on a treadmill every year. The film beckons through the filmmakers' favourite tagline "based on real events". Though I do believe that the search for the real Ranar was harrowing and in some ways adventurous, the film comes across as too primordial and plodding. Moreover, with its rather short running time, it sets up several plot issues (the search for the sick dog, the father-son relationship, the son's illness, flashbacks to the mother's childhood), but the script fails to resolve them well. Ironically, I was more moved by the dog's story from the past than the one from the present. Better two stars! ()
